In Memory of André Tessier

We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of André Tessier, former president of the Montreal Blues Society.

Although many of us didn’t know him during his time as president, we were fortunate to see him often at festivals, concerts, and other blues events over the years. Even after stepping down from his official role, André continued to be part of the Society’s extended family, always ready to lend a hand at our booth, share a smile, or talk about the music he loved so much.

He wasn’t one to speak loudly or seek the spotlight, but his presence was always felt. He was steady, kind, and full of quiet passion for the blues. Those who spent time with him remember his deep knowledge of the music and his genuine warmth toward everyone he met.

André helped shape the Montreal blues community through both his leadership and his continued involvement long after his presidency. We are grateful for his dedication and the example he set for all of us who care about keeping the blues alive.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all those who shared in his love of the blues.
