Winning in Montreal already generates an incredible feeling, and the excitement builds as you prepare for the trip…
Meeting and getting to know all these musicians, all driven by the same thrill of being at the IBC - you suddenly realize you’re surrounded by winners from every Blues Society, each representing their province, state, or country… winners from all over the world.
Crossing paths with major Blues festival organizers, producers, record label directors, and legendary Blues artists - it’s quite something to find yourself among them, staying in the same hotel, getting the chance to talk to them, to introduce yourself.
By sharing our journey and our days on social media, you can feel the support and pride from Quebecers - the people who follow us, who love us - it's a real shot of adrenaline.
Truly an incredible feeling to experience all of this, and to be so well surrounded.
It was an honour for us to represent the Montreal Blues Society and our beautiful province. Thank you all for your support.

MONTREAL BLUES SOCIETY FUNDRAISER ROCKS L’ALBATROS

The Montreal Blues Society’s fundraiser yesterday afternoon at L’Albatros Micro Brasserie in Mascouche was nothing short of a triumph. Music lovers packed the venue to cheer on Father N Son, the dynamic duo who recently won the Society’s prestigious Quebec to Memphis Contest.
The atmosphere was electric from the very first note. Feet were stomping, hands were clapping, and even in the cozy space, people found room to sway to the beats. The applause was loud and heartfelt, it was a true testament to the joy this music still inspires.
It was wonderful to see such a strong turnout. The event proved that blues continues to resonate, drawing people together not only to celebrate live performance but also to support the artists who keep this tradition alive. The generosity of the crowd ensured the fundraiser’s success, showing that the spirit of community and passion for the blues is very much alive in Quebec.
Now, with this wave of support behind them, Father N Son are set to take Memphis by storm. The Montreal Blues Society extends heartfelt thanks to L’Albatros for hosting our us, and to all who helped promote the event - you know who you are!
