Final night in less than 48hrs!

Montreal Blues Society
The final night of competition of the Quebec to Memphis challenge kicks off in less than 48 hours. The musicians will hit the stage right after 5 pm at the Bistro à JoJo on St-Denis.

The two main categories that are judged in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge are Solo/Duo and Band. The Montreal Blues Society will register acts in both categories this year for the very first time.

In the Solo/Duo category, Dan Livingstone will kick off the festivities, followed by Riot, and Pat Loiselle accompanied by Martin Hury. Please note that the duo of Rob Lutes and Rob MacDonald had to withdraw due to a scheduling conflict. The MBS thanks Rob Lutes for being forthcoming about the issue prior to the finals. We hope to see them back next fall!

In the Band category, Angel Forrest leads off, followed by Dawn Tyler Watson. Jordan Officer bats cleanup on Tuesday.

The winner in each category will represent the Montreal Blues Society, and therefore all of Quebec, in Memphis at the end of January. Last year's winner, the Paul DesLauriers Band, represented very well in Memphis, landing second spot worldwide.

The evening's performances will be judged by three experts of the Quebec blues scene using the same criteria that will be used during the IBC. The winners names will be unveiled at the end of the six performances, at about 9 pm. The Montreal Blues Society will also unveil the name of our first ever participant in the Youth category in the 33rd edition of the International Blues Challenge.

Here's the order for Tuesday:
  • Dan Livingstone
  • Angel Forrest
  • Riot
  • Dawn Tyler Watson
  • Pat Loiselle & Martin Hury
  • Jordan Officer
