The countdown is on!

In just over a week from now the 32nd annual International Blues Challenge will begin and the Paul DesLauriers Band will be in Memphis representing the Quebec blues scene. The Montreal Blues Society hosted the Quebec to Memphis contest last fall, and the PDB beat out ten other competing bands. Several Quebec radio personalities steeped in the blues were kind enough to donate their time to judge the three nights of competition at the Bistro à JoJo. Over 250 acts from all over the world are expected in Memphis and we wish Paul, Greg, and Sam the best of luck!

Thursday, January 21st is your last chance to catch the Paul DesLauriers Band live before they leave for Beale Street. The Montreal Blues Society is proud to host this final fundraiser and send-off event. The show kicks off at 8pm at the Petit Campus on Prince Arthur, in downtown Montreal. Come out and support live music, and our entry into the IBC contest!

Not only will this last Montreal show serve as the final push to help us defray the band's expenses for the trip to Memphis, but it also happens to be Paul's birthday. Expect some surprises for this special occasion. We have it on good authority that Angel Forrest and Denis Coulombe will be dropping by to join forces with the PDB for a song or two. There may be others; you'll have to stay tuned! And if we're really lucky, the band will premiere a new song for us from their upcoming album, due in May.
