Hot on the heels of over 200 live shows, Montreal-based Texarillo have just released their first full-length, all-original blues/rock opus entitled “Black Satin Blues”. The 13 song album is a roller coaster ride of energy and emotion including the hard shuffle romp of tracks like “I’d Rather Get Shot Down” and “Flood Water Rising” to the smoldering intensity of “Long Way (From Loving You)” and the hard-hitting Southern Rock vibe of “Stone Cold Heartbreaker”.
Formed in August 2010, Texarillo is a powerhouse trio of veteran musicians whose sound is steeped in the tradition of American Blues & Roots Rock music. With influences that range from the Texas blues of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Johnny Winter to the slick Chicago vibe of Buddy Guy & BB King with a little Jimi Hendrix thrown in for good measure, Texarillo is the ultimate roadhouse band.
Written and produced by Texarillo’s front man and guitarist Dwane Rechil (who previously released two albums in 2005 & 2008 with the hard rock outfit TOP JOHNNY!), Black Satin Blues became his way of returning to his first musical love, the blues. He even wrote all new songs for the album instead of recording covers as his way of showing his commitment to the future of the blues as a living music form.
The new album will be launched live on February 7th at
Calistoga Grill
235 Boulevard Saint-Jean,
Pointe-Claire,
