After letting his fans hang for over 10 years, Kenny, dubbed as Quebec's James Brown, has finally succeeded in putting together the requirements to record his first album which consists mostly of original compositions.
The Bistro à Jojo was the launching pad for his first album “Going with the flow” in Montreal.
This veteran performer of the Blues scene, harmonist and singer Kenny Dupree, has been forging his position in the blues scene for many years. His band, Kenny Dupree & The Sound Brigade, has been in existence since 1996. Nominated five times for Lys Blues Awards in the 'Cabaret' category; he claimed one in 2009 and in 2010. His warm and powerful voice, coupled with his energetic presence allows him to deliver a memorable performance every time. With progression always in mind, he mixes original compositions inspired by influential composers like Otis Redding, B.B. King, Paul Rodger and Buddy Guy. Charismatic and passionate, he is at home on stage and knows how to engage an audience. Adeptly assisted by his experienced musicians, Rami Cassab on guitar, Alec McElcheran on bass and Mike Landry on drums, whether in studio or on stage; they display a mixture of creation and interpretation with versions that cover the gamut of Blues from Soul to Rock, R&B to Funk peppered with Chicago Blues. |
